Great Online Tech Shopping!
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time paying the inflated prices at the local computer parts stores.
A few years ago I started building custom computers. If you’re going to go down to your local computer parts store to buy all the components needed to build your own custom computer, you might as well just go buy the complete package already built, because you won’t be saving much.
There are some great online websites that I’ve discovered that will list, and show you the best bargains available of all the other online PC components stores that are listed with them with just a couple of mouse clicks. Now that’s what I call One Stop Shopping!
I’m going to tell you about two of them. This first one is the one I use most of the time.
PriceWatch.com
I like this one best because it’s the easiest to navigate. It’s organized by categories. like Motherboards, Memory, Storage Devices, Monitors, etc…. I think you get the picture.
When you click on a specific category, it then breaks it down by type, manufacturer, and price range. Once you’ve chosen from this list, it brings up all the deals available, starting with the lowest price and goes up. It lists the deals available at dealers like, Newegg.com, AscendTech.com, PcParts.com, and many more.
All the dealers listed are checked out and verified by Pricewatch. I’ve personally used a number of different ones, and have never been screwed yet.
SearchAllDeals.com
This site performs a search through the online PC component stores and creates a list of great available bargains. It lists dealers like, Ben’s Bargains, FatWallet, TechBargains, and many more.
The results page shows you a list by dealer, then the bargains available at that dealer.
I find this one a little less user friendly, but even so, the bargains are there.
To sum it up, the best part is that most of the time, you’re going to literally save half of what it costs at the local brick and mortar store.
So, if you’re talented, and into buying techy stuff like this, Don’t Miss The Deals!

Good article!! I used to build my own custom computer, but then when my my computer suddenly “died” I didn’t had any time to fix it so from there on I decided to buy a computer at the computer store! This way I have more time… :p And when it’s broken or damaged or anything else, I’ll bring it to the computer store and use my guarantee!

Hey man, I used to try and mess around with my own custom computers but after a few headaches I just buy a new dell every 2 or 3 years and don’t mess around with the details.
Then again I’m not much of an IT guy…
More of a developer type.
Thoughts?

I know what both of you mean about the time to do it. But then for me, I enjoy the the whole process, and the satisfaction of the end result.
Plus I know exactly what’s in there and had the choice to customize it the way I wanted with a few extra tweaks you won’t get on the standard shelf model.
